Katy | senior

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

We had a fun afternoon with Katy taking her senior pictures in Grapevine. We explored the Botanical Gardens and the train area downtown and had a great session!

Rozie

Monday, July 13th, 2009

I decided I wanted to do some extra shooting awhile back and my friend Rozie graciously agreed. We headed up to downtown McKinney, a place I’ve been wanting to shoot at for a long time. My fabulous assistant Heather (who several of you have met) came along as well and we had a great little session.

Here’s Heather, looking super helpful as always!

Charlotte + Kenny | wedding

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Charlotte and Kenny are absolutely perfect for each other. They’re both sweet, spontaneous, and totally funny. We can tell they have lots of fun together and make each other laugh. We were totally psyched to be able to do their wedding! They wanted it to be an awesome, fun party, and it was. The wedding was at Skyline Ranch, which had fun touches like an ice sculpture and carriage rides.

I’ve discovered that Charlotte and I have similar opinions on a lot of things – make-up, texting, when we like to pay for stuff. I really enjoyed spending the day with her and the girls. I got to meet up with them at Heath Hair & Day Spa and take pictures of everyone getting their hair and make-up done. It was an awesome place and an awesome group of girls to hang out with.

The salon had chocolate-covered strawberries and mimosas for everybody:

The flower girl fell asleep watching Steel Magnolias:

There was some beautiful light coming in to the salon. I didn’t even have to get my flash out once.

You could tell the flowergirl was excited to get her hair and make-up done and drink orange juice out of a fancy glass with all the girls:

A toast in the limo on the way to the wedding site:

The maid of honor looks out to see what’s going on:

Charlotte really wanted to do the jumping shot – so we braved the intense heat and mean ants to get it:

Charlotte’s much more interested in silly faces and fun pictures than anything serious:

Kenny gives the cool groom’s cake a thumbs-up:

The guys braved the heat too (I can’t even describe how hot it was):

Charlotte made her entrance on a horse-drawn carriage, surprising everyone:

This was in response to the part of Charlotte’s vows that said “all that I have is yours:”

They got to ride in the carriage:

See – perfect for each other:

They had a fun first dance:

I couldn’t pick just one ring shot for the blog, so you get to see two:

The kids really liked playing under the table:

And flying through the air (this one just makes me laugh):

A few shots from the party (no pun intended):

Charlotte and Kenny, we’ve had so much fun with you guys! Congratulations!!

Lighting Workshop

Friday, May 1st, 2009

I spent last weekend at a fun workshop, learning cool stuff about dramatic lighting. The workshop was put on by TriCoast Photography from Houston, and it was at the old flour mill in McKinney, which was an amazing location! Here are a few of the shots I got throughout the weekend:
