Janaye + Brady | engagement

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

We’ve been anticipating this shoot for awhile – Janaye is my youngest sister (I have 3) and we’re so excited that she and Brady are getting married! It does make me feel a little bit old, now that my “baby sister” is getting married, but we all think Brady is awesome so we’re pretty psyched. They met in the toothbrush aisle of a grocery store, and that’s where Brady proposed – in the same toothbrush aisle, lined with candles. Super cute! They’re getting married on his grandfather’s farm in June and it’s shaping up to be an awesome wedding (of course, I’m a little biased). As you can see, I had a hard time narrowing down my favorite engagement pictures, but that’s what happens when you go to 3 and 1/2 locations and it’s your sister!

Mickey

Mickey’s mom has a large print of his sister when she was younger, and wanted to have one of Mickey to match, so we journeyed down to the Arboretum to take some pictures. His sister Gracie got in for a few shots too. These kids are just adorable – super sweet and friendly, and very excited to take photos. We had a lot of fun!

This one probably won’t make the big wall portrait, but I thought it was a cute picture of him playing around:

This one makes me laugh – you can just tell he’s thinking “Come on; no pictures now – I just want to throw rocks!”

The big reward for taking pictures was getting to visit the pumpkin patch and house at the end:

And this last one was Mickey’s suggestion; he wanted me to take a picture of this thing, and I thought it turned out pretty well! Good eye, Mickey!

Charlotte | bridal

At the beginning of Charlotte’s bridal session, she told me she didn’t want any “serious, sultry, unhappy” pictures – instead she wanted “huge happy smiles with lots of teeth.” She’s hilarious, and we had a ton of fun! Here are a few from the bridal session back in April – check back in a couple of days for wedding photos!
